Theodore, I would really like to move this discussion to my FB wall so others can participate, but here’s the situation. The way I see it, this country is going to hell in a handbasket. God gave us minds, bodies and souls and expects us to use all three. We do not get up in the morning and simply pray for the rent money or for food or gasoline. We pray and then go to work. Catholics must be involved politically, it is part of “rendering to Caesar what is Caesar’s”. Catholic media does not want to touch any of this with a ten foot pole. Archbishop Dolan addressed his concerns regarding infringement on religious freedom by the Obama administration in a letter to the president. Catholic media is content to deal with The Mass, The Rosary, Lives of the Saints and so on. My show is very different. It is “in your face” on the issues of the day. Catholic radio stations are either not interested or scared to death or hope Obama wins again. Whatever the explanation in a given situation, they are unanimous in not wanting what I do as part of their programming. I actually could address the issues without advocating for or against a political candidate or party, but they will still not touch it, even if all my comments are based on Church writings, including The Catechism. If you relate the show to life here on earth politically, you are taboo – anathema. Catholics determine the outcome of every election in America. Politically the U.S. is a moral cesspool and I can only conclude that Catholic leaders are either afraid to speak out or actually like things the way they are headed. Check out some of my shows at www.rpconradio.com or just read the titles. Most of them would make people in Catholic media have to run to the bathroom. If you would like to test what I am saying here by contacting Catholic media, do so, and let me know what you find out. As I said, we may have to copy and paste all of this onto my FB page and “Dennis’ Blog” which is brand new and also at www.rpconradio.com. Thanks for your interest in this, Theodore.
Would the “Religion, Politics & the Culture” Radio Show Ever be Accepted on Catholic Radio? No Way!

A Facebook friend suggested that instead of my trying to raise money for lay Catholic radio via donations that I simply put the shows on Catholic radio where it would be free of charge to do so. The following is my response to him.

Should Catholic and other Christian political candidates, while campaigning, reference Jesus Christ and/or the Holy Bible? Perhaps frequently?

Is it wrong to take a political candidate’s religion into consideration when deciding for whom to vote? Or, is it something we must do on a personal level?
